About QAIA:

As the Kingdom's prime gateway to the world, QAIA offers direct access to major cities across the globe - effectively connecting east with west, while offering a broad range of flight and route options.

Located 35km from the heart of Amman, QAIA is the principal entry point to the Levant region and since its launch in 1983 has been serving as Jordan’s key gateway to the world.

Following a US$800 million modernisation and expansion programme, a new passenger terminal with an area of 150,000sqm was opened on March 21, 2013.

Currently, the state-of-the-art new passenger terminal has the capacity to handle up to 12 million passengers per annum from its old capacity of 3.5 million.

In 2017, QAIA welcomed 7,914,704 passengers – witnessing a 6.81% increase in passengers in comparison to the previous year. Aircraft movement figures also rose in 2017, experiencing an overall growth of 0.35% and totalling 74,044, whereas cargo traffic figures registered a major year-to-date (YTD) increase of 9.14%, settling at 110,416 tons.
